THREE QUESTIONS TO SWOOP ON

Without Trey Kell III – who steps up for the 36ers offensively?

I said it in the preview today – Mitch McCarron needs to explore scoring options early to see if he’s “on” – if he is keep rolling with it but then it comes down to the contribution of Wiley and Vasiljevic mainly with others chipping in here and there.

The Phoenix are 1-4 on the road, their one win here but does a win or a loss change their mentality around winning away from home?

It seems to be the pressing question for this team and where it can take the next step in its championship credentials – both in defence and winning away from home.

With the first coach domino falling – does the pressure shift to CJ with a loss tonight ?

CJ will be judged now likely on how his team is at the last third of the season now with the squad showing enough fight and execution to stay competitive. They have after this the Breakers in New Zealand, the week after Tasmania away, Cairns at home and Melbourne away, with Brisbane and Perth (for the last time in the regular season) and Illawarra on New Years Eve to finish the calender year.

There are winnable games that set the tone for the remainder of the run…

So who wins?

Currently 3-7 – there are four foreseeable wins after this which would make it 7-11 by the end of the year, looking at where both teams are at this is a must win at home to push it closer to 500 with a 8-10 record.

After a disappointing second quarter fade out last time in five minutes – I’m expecting a readdress for the home team to give them some momentum heading into the FIBA break.

COD Prediction: 36ers by 5 points
